RingGo available in three Hertfordshire boroughs as they join the National Parking Platform

Drivers can pay for parking using RingGo by Arrive, the UK’s number one parking app, for the first time in East Hertfordshire, Welwyn Hatfield and Stevenage as the boroughs join the National Parking Platform (NPP).

Millions of drivers around the UK are already benefiting from cashless parking as councils and private operators modernise their systems to offer greater convenience and flexibility. Paying to park by phone saves motorists time and hassle as they can pay from the comfort of their vehicle or en route to their destination, and there is no need to carry coins or queue at the ticket machine. They can also extend the session remotely without returning to their car, with optional reminders when their parking is running out.

The National Parking Platform (NPP) is a not-for-profit open platform that connects multiple parking service providers to hundreds of locations nationwide. Instead of asking drivers to download another app, it integrates the ones they already use, making parking simple, seamless, and consistent everywhere.

If you are already a RingGo user, and you travel to park in an area covered by the NPP you can continue to use the RingGo app to pay without using cash or visiting a pay and display machine.

Christopher Head, Regional Director for the UK & Ireland at Arrive, says: “Boroughs are joining the NPP as they recognise the benefits that a competitive market for parking service providers bring for residents as well as visiting motorists. Drivers from East Hertfordshire, Welwyn Hatfield and Stevenage that regularly drive to areas where they use RingGo to park can now also use RingGo when parking in their local area. Similarly family, friends and businesses that regularly drive to these three boroughs can now continue to use RingGo when paying for parking, simplifying their experience. We look forward to more boroughs and councils joining the NPP throughout 2026.”

Sarah Randall, Interim CEO, National Parking Platform, added: “Welcoming Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council, East Herts Council and Stevenage Borough Council to the National Parking Platform (NPP) is an important milestone. Their coordinated approach shows real leadership and demonstrates how local authorities can work together to deliver more open, consistent and driver focused parking services. We’re delighted to be supporting them as part of the growing NPP community.” Motorists who use RingGo have various ways to pay. The most popular choice is via the app – which can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store or Google Play – or they can call, text or visit RingGo.co.uk.

Those who have not used RingGo before must register to use the service by downloading the free RingGo app and inputting details, or visiting RingGo.co.uk and completing the registration. Existing RingGo users can simply add the relevant location code, start a session and park in a couple of taps.
