Croydon Council goes Net Zero with RingGo

We’re pleased to announce that Croydon Council is launching Net Zero parking, in a move to create cleaner air. In doing so, Croydon will become the seventh RingGo council to implement our award-winning Emissions Based Parking solution!

Motorists that drive cleaner, greener vehicles will be rewarded with up to a 90% discount, encouraging more motorists to switch to an electric vehicle ahead of 2030. To ensure those who drive ‘cleaner’ vehicles do not miss out on cheaper parking, they will need to pay using the RingGo app. Otherwise, motorists who pay using the machine will be charged the maximum price.

Peter O’ Driscoll, Managing Director, RingGo said: “We are delighted to be working with Croydon on this parking solution; we’re aiming to change the behaviour of motorists for the better in local areas and that can only be done through incremental, efficient and easy solutions like the new EBP variant.

“With Clean Air and Ultra Low Emission Zones delayed due to COVID-19, and with emissions in many regions across the UK having quickly returned to pre-COVID levels after the last lockdown, we are expecting this move to be one of many carried out by Councils that are looking to economically promote sustainability. We have had a lot of success in implementing similar parking solutions in other London boroughs and areas, such as Westminster, so we’re hoping to continue that success in 2021 and beyond.”

It’s easy to get started with RingGo, just download our free app. You can download RingGo from the App Store or Google Play Store and register with a few details.
