Pay for parking in South Lanarkshire with RingGo

We are delighted to announce that you can now pay for parking in South Lanarkshire with the UK’s no.1 parking app. The council is recommending RingGo as the quickest and safest way to pay. This means motorists can avoid using a pay and display machine, as well as not having to search for loose change!

South Lanarkshire is the latest Scottish council to offer RingGo with the service already available in neighbouring councils GlasgowEast Ayrshire, South Ayrshire and Scottish Borders, as well as the City of Edinburgh. So despite no previous phone parking supplier in South Lanarkshire, many local motorists will already be accustomed to the quick and easy app.

Chair of South Lanarkshire Council’s Community and Enterprise Resources Committee, Councillor John Anderson, said:  “As our town centres look to recover, we need to ensure that available parking spaces have a regular turnover to allow people to visit shops, premises and workplaces more easily.

“The reintroduction of on-street charges only strikes an appropriate balance at this time.

“The launch of the RingGo app is a great new option for users allowing them to park for a chosen period of time, but if for whatever reason they realise they are not going to be back when they first anticipated, it is easy to just extend their stay using the app.

“I am sure those who visit our town centres will appreciate the increased flexibility the app will bring.”

For those that have not used the app before, they will need to register. You can download RingGo from the App Store or Google Play Store and register with a few details. If you’re not a smartphone user, you can register and park by calling the number shown on parking signs or register online by clicking the green “REGISTER NOW” button at the top of this page.
